This may include your name, contact details, professional and employment history, qualifications, CV, salary expectations, career preferences, questionnaire responses, video content and other information you choose to provide.

We may also maintain our own professional notes relating to enquiries, clients and crew candidates where reasonably necessary to provide our services.

3.How we use your information

We use personal information where necessary to:

  • respond to enquiries;
  • provide and administer Yacht Savvy's services;
  • communicate with clients and prospective clients;

Depending on the circumstances, processing may be based on your consent, steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations or Yacht Savvy's legitimate business interests, where those interests do not override your rights and freedoms.

4.Crew Network and recruitment

When you submit your information to the Yacht Savvy Crew Network, you are asking Yacht Savvy to consider you for suitable yacht crew opportunities.

Your profile may be retained so that we can consider and contact you regarding opportunities that arise in the future.

Where we believe you may be suitable for a position, we may provide your CV and relevant professional information, together with Yacht Savvy's professional assessment of your suitability, to an appropriate yacht owner, captain or authorised client representative.

Information provided through additional Crew Network questions and your introductory video is intended primarily for Yacht Savvy's internal assessment and will not ordinarily be shared with prospective clients.

By choosing to remain within the Yacht Savvy Crew Network, you agree that we may retain and use your candidate information for consideration for future opportunities. You may ask to be removed from the Crew Network at any time by contacting hello@yacht-savvy.com.

5.How long we keep your information

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and to meet applicable legal, accounting or regulatory requirements.

Crew Network profiles will generally be reviewed after approximately two years. We may contact you to confirm whether you wish to remain in the network or update your information. Information that is no longer required may be deleted or anonymised.

Information relating to clients and business transactions may be retained for longer where necessary to meet legal, tax, accounting or contractual obligations.

6.Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information where reasonably necessary with:

  • yacht owners, captains or authorised client representatives when considering a crew candidate for an opportunity;
  • professional advisers where necessary;
  • technology and service providers used to operate our website, communications, data storage and business systems; and
  • authorities or other parties where disclosure is required by law.

Where third-party service providers process personal information on our behalf, we expect appropriate data-protection and confidentiality safeguards to be in place.

7.International services

Yacht Savvy operates within an international industry, and our clients, candidates and service providers may be located in different countries.

Where personal information needs to be transferred internationally, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that it is handled in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements.

8.Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.

However, no internet-based service or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9.Cookies and website technology

Our website uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the website to operate securely and correctly. These include security and hosting cookies and, where applicable, a session cookie used to maintain progress through the Crew Network application.

We do not currently use advertising, marketing or analytics cookies.

Our website also uses third-party services necessary for its operation and presentation, including web-hosting services and Google Fonts. These providers may process limited technical information, such as your IP address, when their services are accessed.
